Sean McLoughlin, OD, is a talented board-certified Optometrist, Dry Eye Disease Specialist, and Contact Lens Specialist at Precision Eye Institute. Dr. McLoughlin provides all patients with high-quality, personalized, exceptional eye care from three convenient locations in Edgewater, New Smyrna Beach, and Daytona Beach, Florida.
Dr. McLoughlin’s career began as an optician's apprentice when he was a teenager. He quickly grew to love the field and sought knowledge anywhere he could.
He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry (SUNY College of Optometry) in New York City. He then completed his Ocular Disease and Geriatric Optometry residency at the Edith Nourse Rogers Veterans Memorial Hospital (The Bedford Veterans Affairs Medical Center) in Bedford, Massachusetts.
He specializes in treating and managing ocular disease, complex contact lens fitting, cataract, and refractive surgery co-management.
Having built his private practice in Connecticut, Dr. McLoughlin learned the value of spending time with patients and cultivating relationships. One of his favorite parts of private practice is caring for entire families and watching younger patients grow up and have their own families.
Dr. McLoughlin will always miss his patients in Connecticut, but he is also excited to make new connections in his new home in Florida. He is pleased to work alongside Dr. Krajnyk at Precision Eye Institute, as they share a passion for exceptional eye care.
Aside from eye care, Dr. McLoughlin enjoys staying active with his wife and four children. You can find him kayaking, paddle boarding, or hanging out at the beach.
He hasn’t forgotten his Northern roots and still loves skiing, snowboarding, and playing ice hockey. Music is another passion; he loves accumulating guitars and playing guitar with his children. Originally from Brooklyn, Dr. McLoughlin enjoys watching the Mets, Jets, and Islanders try to win.
